Shell Turkiye was seeking a more centralized and controlled logistics solution for managing the food and non-food products sold at its gas station convenience stores. With two types of stations, those directly controlled by Shell and those operated by franchisees, the product procurement processes for the stores had become fragmented. Previously, Shell had left product sourcing to individual stations, which led to challenges in maintaining consistent product quality and standards, as well as difficulties in negotiating high-volume contracts with suppliers. Shell needed to centralize its supply chain to achieve cost advantages and ensure quality control across its store offerings. Additionally, standardizing and streamlining the distribution processes was a key requirement for greater efficiency.

Küresel Approach

Küresel's Global Supply Chain and Trade company optimized the supply chain for Shell Turkey by centralizing product quality control and management. Fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and vehicle maintenance products sold at Shell stations were consolidated in a central warehouse, ensuring the products met quality standards while enabling high-volume agreements through centralized procurement processes, resulting in cost advantages. Küresel established a distribution network that ensured timely and complete delivery of products to the 1,186 stations controlled by Shell Turkey. These processes, managed through Kurenet and Panorama systems, achieved a 99% on-time delivery performance with over 50,000 delivery orders per year. This integrated logistics solution allowed Shell Turkey to fully control the management of its station markets, improving operational efficiency and guaranteeing product quality.

Starbucks Ready-to-Drink (RTD) beverages offer the Starbucks experience anytime, anywhere with a convenient line of cold, ready-to-drink coffee. This collection includes popular Starbucks items such as bottled Frappuccinos, iced coffees, and cold brews. Available in supermarkets, convenience stores, and other retail locations, Starbucks RTD beverages are crafted to deliver the high quality and flavor expected from Starbucks cafes, now in a portable, ready-to-enjoy format.

Customer Challenges

As Starbucks prepared to introduce its Ready-to-Drink (RTD) products to the Turkish market for the first time, the company sought a reliable and experienced partner. To establish a strong presence in Turkey and effectively distribute Starbucks RTD products to retail locations, they needed a robust distribution and supply chain management solution. Ensuring that these products reached consumers fresh and reliably, efficiently managing broad sales channels, and positioning the brand accurately in Turkey were all critical priorities for Starbucks.

Küresel Approach

As Küresel Tedarik ve Ticaret, we successfully took on all distribution processes by facilitating the entry of Starbucks RTD (Ready-to-Drink) products into Turkey. During the entry process of Starbucks RTD into Turkey, we managed the importation of products from Denmark and customs procedures, ensuring a smooth market entry.

By overseeing both logistics operations and sales and marketing processes, we handled the distribution of Starbucks RTD products to retail locations across Turkey. We ensured that cold chain requirements were met, maintaining the quality and freshness of the products, guaranteeing Starbucks RTD's availability at all times.

Through locally tailored marketing and sales strategies, Starbucks RTD products quickly established their position in the Turkish market, reaching a broad customer base. These integrated solutions provided by us contributed significantly to Starbucks RTD's secure position in the Turkish market and operational success.
